Intention to Provide Services: 

Kangnas Wind Farm invites all suitably qualified service providers to submit an expression of interest to provide the works as stated on the cover sheet. A list of commercial requirements and the pre-qualification criteria for further participation in supplier registration related to the aforementioned works is attached hereto. 

The works requirement for the contractor shall be the demolish, supply and reconstruct 2x wheelchair ramps, concrete apron and brick built stairs at Kangnas Wind Farm, located 50km East of Springbok, off N14, Northern Cape. 

Additional Requirements: 

• Stairways shall comply with the requirements of SANS 10400-M and SANS 10400-T, for construction: Steps to be brick construction of rustic ironpots facebrick. 

• Ramps shall comply with the requirements of SANS 10400- S and SANS 10400-T, for construction: masonry outer wall, with compacted G5 core, topped with a 75mm thick 30MPa concrete slab – with 245 mesh (one layer centrally placed) alternatively can be done completely with concrete. 

• Concrete apron shall comply with the requirements of SANS 10400-K, and have drainage solution or proper slope.(Apron concrete joint:3mm x 50mm deep initial saw cut joint to be introduced after the concrete has hardened sufficiently to resist damage by sawing, but before shrinkage cracking can occur. Ream saw cut joint to 8mm wide x 12mm deep. after at least 7 days, seal with Sikaflex pro 2hp ,or similar approved sealant. (applied strictly in accordance with manufacturers spec’s). 

RFQ’s will only be accepted if they are received by 16 August 2024 via email. 

Pre-qualification Criteria: 

Only contractors who satisfy the following pre-qualification criteria will be considered: 

• Proof of Company Registration 

• NHBRC Registration 

• BBBEE Level 1 to 4 

• Public Liability insurance 

• Women Owned enterprises are encouraged to participate 

• SME’s and newly formed companies should not be discouraged to request information 

• Only Namakwa enterprises are eligible with first preference given to those within 50km radius of the wind farm
